THE PROBLEM
The Disney Junior (DJ) Social Media Managers wanted to create appealing and educational Do-It-Yourself (DIY) video content that promoted various DJ shows on our social media platforms. The primary objective was to resonate with parents, offering them experience-based advice and valuable resources to support their child-rearing journey. The content had to align with DJ's style guide while catering to the needs of parents and their children.
MY ROLE
As part of these fun and amazing projects, I took on the role of Assistant Director (AD) on set, editor, and designer of Endcards for the final video assets. This involved collaborating closely with the DJ Social Media Managers and various stakeholders, including the Paid Media Team, the Director of Marketing, and the Writer-Producers of shows.
Constraints:
· The projects required efficient time management to deliver content within the scheduled timelines, including timely production and post-production processes (i.e. Color grading, and Editing.)
· Sticking to the allocated budget was essential to ensure the successful execution of multiple DIY videos and social media posts.
THE SOLUTION
Our team produced various fun and amazing DIY social media videos that resonated with DJ's parent audience. Collaborating closely with DJ's Social Media Managers and stakeholders, we created content that entertained and educated young children while providing valuable advice and resources for parents. The design process involved thorough pre-production planning, on-set coordination, and post-production editing. Proper quality assurance checks ensured alignment with DJ's style guide.
POSITIVE METRICS
The DIY videos for Disney Junior received an average of 2,000 Likes per post. The consistent likes on these posts contributed to DJ's increased presence and growing metrics across our social media platforms. Families enjoy watching the branded DIY videos together.
TAKEAWAYS
Producing engaging and educational content for parents and young children required a deep understanding of the intended audience's needs and preferences. The ability to connect with parents while entertaining and educating their children showcased the team's ability to keep up with the algorithmic demands of social media platforms.
